Will these work

Will the ford 1.72 roller rockers for the mustang work on the explorer? I am assuming that they mount the same and I shoulden't have any problems if I but a used set off a mustang guy.

as long as they are pedastal mount, and not stud mount, then yes... they will work on your explorer.

i would recommend NOT using them though. all the 1.7's do really is move your powerband up in the rpm range. this is not what you want in a 4500lb automatic suv. for the 4 peak hp you will gain higher up top you will loose over 10ft.lbs. lower down.

Were the mustangs different mounts for different years? How would I know if they were stud mount or pedestal mount?

if they are stock Cobra's, then they are pedestals (bolt on).
