After seeing several questions on windshield washers pumps that don't work, I thought I would tell you what I found on my 1998 Ford Ranger. After tracing down every thing on the washer system and being stumped by a washer pump that worked when I jumped it directly to the battery and didn't when I plugged it into it's system plug. I check the plug to see if it was getting power and it was. So why wasn't the pump working? I found that the connection inside the plug had slipped back or it just broke off and couldn't reach the pins in the female side. After replacing the plug, my washer pump started working. It was so simple, but was a headache till I check the inside of that plug. Hope this helps someone out there.
