How do you remove the wiper arm from the motor on a '96 explorer. Is a special tool required. Not the blade but the entire Arm from the base of windshield..Ray :usa:

Pull the arm all the way up off of the windshield, then pull out the clip at the base of the arm.

Lift the wiper blade about 4-6" off the windshield. Pry the little lever out at the base of the wiper (on the top side IIRC) and let the arm come down on it until it rests on the lever. Then pull the arm off the shaft.

Takes all of 10 seconds once you know how....

Thanks!!

I saw the lever, but didnt realize the blade needed to be off windshield. I didnt want to "force it' and break something. This is super easy..Ray

Yup.... piece of cake once you figure it out the first time. :)

When you go to put it back on, pop the arm down over the apline, then just pull up on the wiper arm and the clip should spring back. :)
