I have 3 wires (I believe, have to double check) behind the dash, in the panel under the headlight switch. In a fake plug molded into the panel.

When I was looking to buy trailer harness, I came across relays and fuses already installed for the tow package, plus the vehicle was already pre wired for trailer, just had to but adapter.

My question is this, could those wires be for the tow/haul mode?
If I buy the button for ~$20, would it work?

Does anyone have the wire colors for the tow/haul mode coming from the dash button?

Vehicle is 2012 Base Explorer, 3.5L V6 FWD

I know that some Explorers have a connector under the dash on the driver's side for a brake controller. Could that be what you are looking at? Just remember that with an aftermarket hitch you are limited to towing 2000 lbs.

I haven't seen that back of that switch although I've had it in my past 3 vehicles including my current one. Perhaps someone has and will be able to help you.
