It is possible to wire your factory headunit to an aftermarket sub, correct? I am eventually going to buy a new headunit but until then, I want to wire my amp to my factory headunit. Does the OEM headunit have pre-amp outputs?

"# Handles MOSFET amplifiers of up to 80 watts"

be careful you dont overload it

what that means is the inputs..not the outputs. There is nothing to worry about even with if there is a factory amp.

Personally I'd spend a little more money on a higher quality LOC...a lot better signal quality than the cheap Scosche.

my problem is that I do not have a new headunit for my truck. I want to get one in the near future (less than a month). I bought my amp and 2 subs first because I got a great deal. I wanted to hook up the subs and amp this weekend, if I could. But I will not have the $$$ this weekend to buy a new headunit.

i would just splice some speaker wire to the wire of one of your rear speakers, then on the other end splice an rca plug then just plug it into your amp thats how mine is right now with the factory unit

I would wait until you can buy your new head unit. Why take the car apart twice. Just do it right the first time. Subs without a quality head unit kinda suck anyways cause you can't adjust them to their full potential. Whats ends up happening is you try to turn your bass up on your OEM head unit and blow out your highs and mids in the process. The whole thing just ends up being unbalanced sound. Your just going to find once you get your subs in you can't hear your high's and mid's especially from OEM speakers.

Just my opinion!!!

i have the bass all the way down on my radio, the bass for the subs come only from the amp im pretty sure thats what the amp is for? maybe not... you could also run your rca wires now if you have them so when you get the new cd player they will be all ready there all you have to do is hook it up
