My friend installed a Pioneer HU in his Kia Sephia the other day and here's the deal.

there is a yellow wire and a red wire coming out from some place else in the car, and they say ACC and BATTERY on them, so he hooked those up. the unit gets power and plays, but when you shut the car off and take the key out of the ignition, the settings don't save and neither does the clock.
so i tried hooking up the wires from his harness, and it gets the same result.

should i connect the two different ACC wires into one? i am kind of out of ideas here.

The wires coming OUT of the head unit:

Wht/Grn = Left Front (-)
Wht/Blk = Left Front (+)
Yel/Wht = Right Front (-)
Yel/Red = Right Front (+)
Brn/Blk = Left Rear (-)
Brn/Grn = Left Rear (+)
Lt Grn/Yel = Right Rear (-)
Lt Grn/Red = Right Rear (+)
Blk = Ground

Going INTO the headunit are:

GRN = Hot IN Accessory ON
PINK = Hot at all times

Blue/White = for illumination goes to engine compartment fuse box

Hope that helps. There is no listing in any KIA vehicle for a yellow or red wire labelled as you state. My guess is someone else owned the vehicle before your friend and they had an aftermarket in and the dealer, or the previous owner replaced it prior to your friend buying it, and left part of the old harness in the car.

Good luck
