Wiring subs to stock headunit

Hey guys,

I will be putting one subwoofer and an amp into my 04 ford explorer. It has the factory jbl subwoofer/amp. I took those out today so that I can use the wires for the new amp. I would like to take the wires out of the factory sub and add wire to them and plug that into the high level inputs in the back of my amp. Is this possible? I took pics. Also, where can I wire my remote for the back of the amp? I dont know this because I am using the factory head unit. Also, I have to wire the power wire from the battery to the new amp still right. I want to do this myself to learn rather than taking it to best buy. Do you guys think that the factory amp had remote already going into it and I can just cut it out of the harness and use it. If so, which color wire is it?

Here are some pics I took of everything. Am I doing this right or do I have to leave the stock sound system the way it is and run a LOC from the back of the headunit to the amp. Id rather do it straight from the factory subwoofer. Is that stupid?

Isnt this the 3rd thread on this. You dont have to go behind the HU just go to the plug that goes into the factory sub amp. What colors on the wires on the harness that comes from the HU and connects to the amp?

Im sorry I just really want a final answer and not answers scattered everywhere. Do you mean I have to take the head unit off to see the wires? What color is the wire that I will use for the remote and what colors are the 2 or 4 wires that will be going into the amp at the high level input? Thats all I need to know and I will be good to go.

well you tell me the color wires that are on the plug that goes into the factory amp and ill let you know which one is which.
