hi everyone, another problem with my ex. Atleast it is dependable when its dry...

ok, first off this started about 4 months ago, and had only happened one time. I went through an automatic car wash, shut my truck off, and turned it back on when it was done and went to drive out. the truck would not accelerate, and the check engine light was on. i sat there and held the accelerator to the ground and the truck moved about 2 mph. i made it down to the next parking lot luckily and shut the truck off. looked under the hood and nothing obvious sticking out to me. after about 10-15 minutes of searching around with veh off and on, it just kicked back in, check engine light went off and truck ran fine.

Yesterday, was the first rain we have had in about 2-3 months, and i was driving in it and the same problem started to happen, but luckily i was going about 30mph and just stepped on the accelerator while it was trying to choke down, and check engine light was coming on, but after accelerating, light went off and truck drove fine.

i talked to a friend and his suggestion was a frayed wire or somewhere water was reaching an electrical connection. he mentioned the harmonic balancer? not sure where that is, i thought it was in the engine.

keep in mind this only happens when it is wet, either from rain or a carwash.
any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

Where the CEL came on, I might start by pulling codes to see what circuit the computer saw the fault in. That might narrow down your search for a bad connection/frayed wire/wet connector.
