wont go into gear?!?!?!???

ok this is my explorers other problem that i dont know how to explain..when im starting out (like from a parking lot) sometimes it wont go into first gear, so i try reverse and it wont go into reverse either, so i start trying to get it to go into either first or second gear and after a while of trying it goes into gear, no when i try to put it into gear there is a clunk underneath the exploer and it sounds like it is coming from the transmission area, is there a fix for this? has it happened to anyone here before??

The clutch needs to be replaced including the pilot and throw out bearings. Also replace the slave cylinder.

Mine does the same but im not fixing it until I simply can't jam it into gear anymore

How are you going to have this work done? Just curious because if you're going to a shop - check around - some will jack up the labor on that type of repair.

although i have done a clutch job on a rbv before, its getting cold and i dont have heat in the shop, so it will be done by a mechanic that i know...he owes me one anyways
