howcome you didn't wait to paint the whole thing till you had done the seam and all?

I wish I could hear this in person....

There was no way to paint this box inside the truck. It had to be in 2 separate pieces. That's the illusion I want. I want people to look at it and just be like "how thw hell did they fit that in there?"

Incredible. Can't wait to see the end result. Great work, I only wish I was there to hear it.

Well we got all the sanding/polishing done, mounted the 2 outer subs, and 2 of the amps. Had to stop because we were short 12 nuts, 12 washers, and some heatshrink. All I can say is GAME ON tomorrow after work :D Pics in the morning when I get to work .

Hell mofin yeah! Sounds like tomorrow is the day :) Man, spring break starts in two weeks, I just might have to come up there and hear that thing , its going to be..... ungodly.

Pics from last night. As you can tell, this thing should be up and running tonight. I'm leaving straight from work and we should have plenty of time. No *****ing about how dusty/dirty it looks. That is the last thing I'm going to do :D

Like normal, we started out wet sanding. 800/1000/1500 to get the clear coat looking even

Time to slap some subs in

Got an amp snuck in for the hell of it

Sooooooooo close..

So all I need is my 12 nuts/washers, shrink tube, and a big, deserted field to tune this thing in tonight :p

while you're at it, remove your rear view mirror... thing is useless now =P

And damn... those subs look sexy...

That's teh sacry part. With my old setup in my Typhoon, I actually cracked the windshield when the mirror came off. The glue was so strong it took a chunk of the windshield with it  :D Hey, in Florida Windshields are replaced at no deductible. I've gone through 4 in my life, and they're always free, so no biggie if something happens. Besides, if I take that mirror off, there goes my excuse to not do a wall because I had to be able to see out the back. Shawn would kill me :D I think the Ex's are pretty tough though when it comes to windshields. It's not gonna get THAT loud...

Well do to some pretty unfortunate problems it probably wont be ready until after he gets back next week. Someone dropped an amplifier on the box and chipped it, then we tryed to play it anyways and :( it cracked the paint. So we have to take everything back off and sand it down, and repaint it. But **** happens. It sounded ok before that though. See you guys in a couple weeks.

Shawn

Did this person get a knee to the nuts for that blunder?
I know if i had spent this much time on something.. and then it got fubared right b4 completion i would have to do some asskicking.. Maybe i just have a short fuse.

Good lord, I can't believe that sh*t happened  I have been working on this system for SEVEN months, and then when we're 1 day away this has to happen. <looks up at sky.. WHYYYYYYYYY!!!!>.. At this point I'm just going to scrap the whole damn project. With my luck I'll get it in and something will blow up every week........

PSYCH!
:D

AHAHAHH IT's ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!!
OK, before I bring on the pics, I want to first say that this was completely impossible without the help from a real crew of friends.
Shawn "shoulda built a wall" Fleming : the guy that showed up one morning and ripped my old system out while I was asleep
Jeff "Bondo" Barabara: Without Jeff's glasswork, and workshop that makes me feel like I'm spnsored by Home Depot, we'd be nowhere
Ryan "The Mad Painter" Devilbus ;) . Shawn brought him out of nowhere and the guy proceeded to help like he had known me for years.
and Dan "don't let me touch the DA Sander" Penley, who was involved in a little bit of everything.
To the crew: THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Time for the whole shebang.. we turn it on.. and it works! (like I had any doubts) ehehe ;)

And for those over 18, the Full "x.." version
Dirtyports.jpg

And YES I know the ports are dirty. I'm working on cleaning those up tonight.
All I can say fellas is that this thing gets LOUD. Shawn only gained the X-over output to 1/4 and the amp gains are at less than 50%. He said I need to beat on them a bit and then it should get a lotlouder (only getting about an inch of throw right now). All I know is that I'm happy enough with it. It absolutely POUNDS. More pics to come, but WOOOHOOO!

Me like. Me like alot. Yeah, I am definatly going to have to drive up to Gainsville and hear that thing sometime, jeez, I bet it is a BEAST.

Man alive, when you get those gains up... wow, just wow

I can't believe one little chip caused all the paint to crack... and pictures of that?

Howcome all 3 arn't inverted? Still looks like a sexy beast tho.

And BTW - since you're going to be going def in a matter of days, I'll PM the address you can send all your audio equipment since it will be useless to you :D

Hydroxy,
the paint chip thing was Shawn playing a joke on ya :D It never happened.

As for the 3rd sub being inverted, the whole point was so I could have a loud system but still see out the back. Of course, my rearview mirror will probably fall off today, so now I'm wondering why I did it in the first place :p

Ha, I thought he was just messing around about scrapping the whole system.

That is why I told you to remove your rear view mirror before... I thought all 3 were going to be inverted.

Wow, good job guys, good job. I followed this thing from its conception, and it turned out beautifully

what are the wires on the rear side windows?
