I have a 98 explorer and I have been recently looking into purchasing a new bushings kit as well as some new front and rear shocks to try and get a little better handling and a little smoother ride. Am I going about this the right way? Because iv heard some people say these would help alot. Just trying to get some peoples opinions. And if anyone has any recomendations id love it hear em.

Thanks alott :D

Replacing the front end wear components and shocks will absolutely transform the ride and performance of your rig. How many miles are on yours?

Its got around 150K

I did the new shocks and bushings before the fall hit and before the roads got terrible due to snow and ice the ride was vastly improved. so invest the money and do it

Ya i think i definantly am, everyone iv talked to said its made a big difference...What shocks did u end up goin with?

If you want a really good stock type replacement, the Monroe Reflex shocks are great. I've had them and the Sensa Trac's, and the Reflex are my faves. Good valving for an SUV, and about $35 each on Rock Auto, plus they give us a discount.

Toss on new sway bar body mounts and end links too... Will tighten things up considerably, and you could do the ball joints and stuff too if you're so inclined- my truck feels brand new. No clunks, pops, or squeaks.

i did monroe sensa tracs in the front and sensa tracs with the helper springs to level the rear and bring up the back due to saggy leafs

Il definantly have to look into those. Have any of u guys heard anyone using rancho shocks? I hear those are nice

Tons of people use Ranchos, I use Bilsteins.

I have new Ranchos. Had them on my Mountaineer and liked them a lot- thus why I put them on my Explorer.

Where can you get the swaybar/frame bushings? Dealer only? I was looking at mine and they don't look happy.

Front? Auto Parts Warehouse has some.

Rock auto, or any local parts house can get the sway bar parts...
