Ok, I need some help please. I have a 1998 Sport with the V6 4.0L SOHC. I drove half way across the parking lot friday and it died and will no start again. It cranks and cranks but wouldn't start. I have gas getting to the engine and have pulled a plug and have spark. I changed the cranks shaft sensor as well as the cam shaft sensor and the IAC, i'm running out of ideas and money to spent on parts that aren't helping. If anyone could give me some suggestions or ideas of things to try it would really be helpful.

Search engine no start procedure.

Just because you have gas doesn't mean you have enough gas [or good gas], and same with spark - Try a little starting fluid if you haven't, yet. What about inertia switch?

Tried the starting fluid which didn't seem to really help and also check ed inertia switched and it seemed fine and was not popped. Any chance the timing could have got off, i figured it would have run rough for at least a second and also that it should still almost start. Any other sensors that could do it, to me it really seems electrical the way it just all of a sudden died. Thanks for any and all suggestions and thoughts.

Compression check

If you have spark and sprayed starter fluid into the intake manifold and the engine didn't fire then you may have poor compression or spark timing. I suggest that you perform a compression check. While you have the plugs out check them for abnormality. Did you previously have any timing chain rattle?

No there was no timing noise before this happened on last friday.

Is your theft light blinking?

The light is not. I tried to scan it last night with an OBD2 and every time I plugged it in it would turn off. The scanner worked great in another car. Any chance it could be computer related since it is turning off the scanner?
THanks for all the input.
