Woke up at 8AM....started working on dropping the gas tank to replace the EVAP canister. Pain in the butt that was. Trying to unclip the plastic hooks is impossible...and dropping the gas tank with my aftermarket exhaust was fun.

So got that done about noon..spent noon-4 washing/waxing and cleaning the inside...its been a while.

Look under the hood to check oil..and what do I see...a big old crack in my belt about 4 inches long..and splitting towards the sides. Order the belt at 4:30..pick it up at 5..and put it on in 3 minutes..no kidding..easy as pie for these explorers.

Go to hang out with some friends around 7..and around 8:30..DING DING DING...airbag light...and just to let everyone know..it dings 30 times before it decides its let you know what it needs to. So i stop at a gas station...pull the code reader..and no codes. Start the engine back up..no airbag light...so i guess that was just a fluke.

Just wanted to tell everyone about my exciting day! haha

Maybe the blond you were taking home with you set the airbag light off :)

How many miles do you have on that thing to need new EVAP can and belt?

haha at the blonde comment :-p

just turned 89,000 last night.the belt was slit in 2 spots that look like it had be cut on something..odd looking cuts.

The evap canister...theres a TSB for that...so im not surprised it went out.

Already been through the radiator problems and all the other stuff...reear axle seal, plugs dilema.

Everything on this explorer...airbag light wasnt on today..so who knows what caused that.
