Hey guys~ howzit
well first off, i just want to say, from reading all the posts and responses in these forums, this is a TERRIFIC resource and i'm Very happy i stumbled upon this gem of a board
ok enough brown nosing, down to biz
i'm looking to put in a custome designed console for a new a/v system in my 94' X .. must have features: dvd/mp3/(s)vcd/7"or higher LCD/ 6+cd-changer (inserted, not topload or flip down front panel) or at least compatible with one,at which point the loading style wont matter
.. extra's id like but can do without :wma playback,id3tag reading,in-dash lcd,tv tuner,
i'd Love it to be in dash cd/hu,but, the small portables offered on ebay are much cheaper, and it'd have the added benefit of taking out to use at a friends house or something. but i guess they wouldnt work with a cd-changer...still trying to figure out the best system scenario for me. the in-dash LCD is definately cool, id be fine with a flip down too..
im thinking if i just concentrated on a nice 6+ in-dash cd/mp3 player, and then just addded a portable dvd thing for vcd's etc. it might be less frustrating? i'm open to all possible scenarios at this point, i'm not what you'd call an 'audiophile' but i DO want decent sound,, NOT looking for ghetto-fabulous earth shattering ka-boom type bass or anything of the kind, my cargo space is reserved for camping/fishing/surfing gear, not 50 inch woofers, hell im not even certain if i'll be needing an amp or not?. anyways i drive ALOT and my morning comute is over an hour,i want to make it more comfortable so looking into all options. i'm a music lover, musician of sorts, and have been deprived of listening to any of my cd's in my truck for farrrrr too long.
i appreciate any help or suggestions you experts on here can offer. !
