Well its about time I give this thread an update.
With a newborn baby girl, I needed something more comfortable and with a working A/C. Owning her since new back in 1997, it was time. The truck had to go after 14 good years. I sold it in the early summer of 2011. It was a truly a sad day. A friend from another forum bought it with the condition that he will let me have first dibs if he decided to sell the truck down the road.
I see the truck on Facebook once in a while. Somewhat regretting that I let her go.
I couldn't believe someone else is claiming to own her and not me. It's a weird feeling.
Fast forward to the end of summer 2013. I received a phone call from the same friend, asking me if I am ready to take her back. I was speechless for a few seconds... letting it sink in a bit. I was surprised and excited that I will have the opportunity to get her back! After much debate (okay a little debate lol), I made arrangements to take a look. 2 weeks later, I was driving her back home, where she belongs, with me.
The good news is getting her back brings back joyful memories. Being at the driver seat, you get this feeling that you are seating at your favorite rocking chair that you've had all your life. It just FEELS right!
The bad news is, the guy did not take care of her the way I did. She came back all beaten up as the picture shows. It'll be a slow process getting her back to the same condition before I sold her. She may or may not last very long but it would be just right for her to end her run at my own hands.
If I could help it, she will be running forever. Getting an upgrade here and there as funds allow. Continue to mod her in the same direction I was going before I let her go.
