11.22.2010-11.23.2010
ive always had a bogging/no get up and go on a cold start. so i went ahead and tried this: http://ford40.com/sputtering.shtml

left it to soak all night, dried today. there was some dirt/dust on the filaments. put it back in today along with a new maf from a cobra.
not only was there no more bogging when cold, i didnt have the slow response/bog related to having my battery unplugged and it relearning itself either.

i reccomend doing this if you have probs and notice the maf filaments are dirty.

the new maf sensor:

and the painted area behine the grille:

i will be painting the grille, bull bar, front bumper, rear bumper all with bedliner.
and at some point paint along the sides of the truck following the top of the bumper line in bed liner

11.24.2010-11.28.2010
bed lined front bumper, rear bumper+rear sides, grill, and re-added wal-mart lights.
took off the hitch that was attached the the bumper also.

well. thats how its gonna stay anyway. after i drive it a bit itll drop some tho.

project #2 is done. now my light doesnt fall out the door pocket and hit the ground anymore. i used bolts and nuts instead of the screws on this one just cause it gets more use and its a lot heavier.
the mini mag in the back i wasnt sure if i wanted it there or under the hood somewhere. so i just put it in the back.

alignments done. bushings that were in there are maxed out. but its pretty close, itll be fine with no tire wear. toe from running into curbs is fixed. he thinks i skipped a few teeth on the steering shaft when i did that also since my steering wheel is off.

Did they center the steering wheel?

I've found many alignment shops are lazy and don't bother to set the steering wheel. All they have to do is set the wheel straight, then adjust the drivers wheel to straight then set the toe on the passenger side. Now your wheel is straight.

My shop must have been lazy too, my car drives straight as an arrow, but the wheel is a tad off center.

Nice job with those mag lite holders. Where did you get those? I am planning on buying myself a 2D LED maglite to keep in the car and those clips are a pretty nice mounting idea.

Where did u go

maniak, my pitman arm faces perfectly straight with the steering wheel off center. he knows what hes doing. its explorinitups brother.

i used 3/16s(i think) stove bolts and nuts instead of the screws for a little more strength, just incase.

jd, holy crap youre up early :p
i went to tims brother, he works at another tq.

I usually don't like hood pins but it must by my aversion to chrome, I like the white plate/screws. Looks good.

Ah, next time you sandblast something give them a squirt. Damn chrome is impossible to get paint to stick to.

Looks good.i like hood pins, chrome or not;)did you take you latch out or leave it?

yea. if i ever get enough vinyl sticker scraps to cover it ill stick that on there.
even bedliner doesnt stick to chrome well! (my bumper on the last page)

i took the latch out. cut the cable at the firewall and left it connected under the dash

You have to scuff it bad.bedliner is easy, paint is a little harder depending on color and transparent colors are stoopid hard and never done one that looks good;(

i used 60grit on a circular sander. one side of the plates is stainless or whatever, and the other side was polished up and had a protective cover on it.
as i said, if i can find a big enough piece of white vinyl ill cover it with that.

what would cause the lock/unlock button on my drivers door to not work. also on the passenger side the lock button doesnt work BUT the unlock button works on the passenger side.

?? happened back in october. i think i checked the right fuse back then, and i didnt change it out so i guess it was good

I think it's usually a problem with the switch itself. Water gets in them being on the door like that and after years a bit of corrosion and crap on the contacts.
