Ok I have a Pioneer DEH-P650 that is XM ready. I want XM but don't know what the heck to get to make it work. XM makes a tuner box thing and so does Pioneer. Do I get both? If I only get one, which one? This stuff is confusing me and all I want to do is listen to commercial free radio :( . Let me know anything that might help. Thanks

I also have a XM ready pioneer which I have XM hooked up to, I went with the pioneer xm tuner, it came with all the cables and antenna. Just be sure it will work with your model head unit. The intall is pretty easy If you want pictures I will go take some when you let me know.

Ok so is there a difference between the XM tuner thing and the Pioneer one? Pics are always nice. Thanks

"XM Ready" or "Satellite Ready" usually means "more hardware" to make it work. Been there, done that (Pioneer). Dead easy install. Plug tuner box into head unit, splice power to tuner box, ground it, attach antenna to tuner box. DONE.

My tuner box sits under my driver's side rear seat.

EDIT: I've got the Pioneer tuner box. Lots of third party offerings out there, but none interface with Pioneer like Pioneer.

What he said lol, I will take some pics when I wake up tomorrow. I would go with the pioneer over the standard xm tuner box just for the fact it was made to work with your specific radio, not just as a universal.

Ok I'll get the Pioneer thing then for sure. How much were yall's? Did you pay $100 like it says on the Pioneer site? If you got a deal, lemme know where from. Thanks for the help.

I got it for 100 at bestbuy so I think its a pretty standard price but you may be able to get it for less if you look around.

p.s. how are those speaker working out for you still? If you want with that warranty you can exchange them for something of the same price or more expensive and just pay the difference.

I can't remember what I paid for my tuner, but it was WAY cheaper through an eBay seller, brand new. There are online sites relating to XM that deal on XM related hardware all the time. Google is your friend! :p

the only difference is the Terk XM is the 2 piece with the XM Tuner and a brand specific adapter and has no inputs. the Pioneer unit is a larger one piece design with an IP BUS input on it so you can retain the AUX input for the deck
