I just replaced the shocks on my '04 Sport Trac with the Bilstein HD's, and while my truck just rolled over 30,000 on Tuesday, it made quite a difference. I will concur with others that the stock shocks suck, and don't last at all - the things could have been compressed by a 3 year-old quadriplegic when I took them off. I am also happy to report that the truck finally rides like a truck as well, which I know some people don't want, but I love I nice ride that allows me to feel the road. For anyone with more miles than mine on the stock shocks, I'd tell you to go replace them now. It was a nice afternoon project (and I'm out of town on vacation to boot
), and probably the second easiest shock install I've done (the easiest was my '95 Explorer
). Now I get to enjoy a much better ride on the drive home
.
