I got this explorer back in 2004 when I was 15 from my mom. It had a blown transmission that I had to get replaced. Since then I have modified it. The only bolts I haven't turned would be on the original motor.

This picture was taken when I spend most of my day washing and waxing it with McGuire's 3 step wax system.... boy did it shine!

Glad you finally got it. The shifting arm pics are a little fuzzy. It's looks like for some reason the shaft steps or grinds down right before the 90 degree turn. In your opinion what's your take on it.

I didn't realize those pictures were fuzzy until after I got it back together.

The shaft looks to be ground down to clear the housing. I don't see the shift arm ever being an issue, but everything else is real good looking quality and then you got that! If anything it could have been welded the whole way around it.

That is the only real complaint I have about it, that I saw.

that finally came in, and i finally got to drive mine more than 20 feet. a good day for all.

Yeah man!

Update: I got to go to rausch creek for the first time with my bud from work. He has a toyota on 36" swampers. His buddy tagged along in a ford ranger on 31" tires, so we stayed on all the easy trails. It was a good time and we are definitely going up next year. I got to play on the competition course which will be more fun with the doubler. I will upload pictures sometime.

I need to find sometime to install the doubler but I am afraid as soon as I start tearing into it, it will snow and it won't be drivable! That is what happened with the sas and it was disappointing.

We are planning on hitting up Rausch creek sometime in 2013, Big Dogs was a good time may hit them up again too.

You'll have to let me know when you set a date to go to rausch.

I found a manual 1354 in the junk yard a week ago. I just got done installing it and removing all the wiring for the auto shift case. I want to install my doubler but I am not ready to have my explorer down that long, plus I am still brainstorming ideas.

Mocked the doubler up on the table

Now the plan is to strip the electric shift transfer case of all the internals so I can use that as a mock up when I do install my doubler.

Auto Fab Motor Mounts

I purchased some autofab motor mounts. I am building my own for the transmission identical to the autofab trans mount. I can't wait to get them in and get rid of the drivetrain slop.

Burn out with the Parts Truck!

I bought this truck for the transmission for my wood truck. Had to do a burn out!

I got the auto fab motor mounts installed... Wow what a difference they make. It is a joy to drive again and doesn't sound like it is going to fall apart!

..Did you ever install a doubler? What one?

..And how much for the Autofab Motor Mounts?

Never had the time to install the doubler yet. It is a strong box from behemoth drivetrain. I saw splodo49 posted up that his strong box broke,
Splodo49 said:
the strong box broke, nothing big but had to tear the pig back out and send it to jake for a shift fork rebuild
When I read that I got a hold of Jake and he told me to send it back and he would install a shift fork that has two contacts instead of the single one it has now. My doubler is boxed up and ready to go back to kentucky !

The motor mounts were $240 + shipping. They are pricey but money well spent imo. Here is the link to them.

...Thanks for the information and the update..:biggthump

The end of april, Jacob received my strongbox for warranty work. It has been over 3 weeks since I have heard from him and he still has my box. I was told it would be shipped back to me with the updated shifting mechanism in a week! It's been around a month and a half.

dude you are having a crappy time with the doubler. return it, buy an atlas. well buy two, I need one.

I told him I wanted a refund so that may have something to do with not hearing from him.

I want to try and get a ddmachine doubler but I need my refund from behemoth drivetrain to get it.

I should have gotten an atlas back when I had the money to do so.

It is a pretty disgusting situation I am in. Even if he would send it back to me I am almost afraid to get custom shafts made for it and have it break. Then I would have to wait 6 months just to get it fixed and have my explorer not drivable. Forget that I am done with the strong box deal.

..Sorry to hear this isn't working out for you..:(

..But there is lot's of upset people on the net with D & D...A number of people have paid him and after six months no word and no doubler yet...

He seems to always come thru for the purchaser even though this has been his standard operation for a long time now..I don't think I could take all the stress..

Thanks man, it is defintely stressful.

I read many threads about d&d's customer service so I do know about that. There has been 2 used d&d doublers on the rangerstation I would have jumped on if behemoth drivetrain llc. did not have my doubler money!
