This is from a couple months ago when I put the engine in. Upper intake powder coated by our own jtsmith, I did a little custom work on the intake plaque with a dremel and polishing wheel. The block, timing cover and filler neck are painted with Plasti-kote Ford Red engine paint.

I'm going to have Jon do my intake tubing this spring when I get my Mustang back out. Most likely high gloss clear.

I just gotta post mine.. Yes its a 1st Gen.. yes I need to clean up the brackets etc.. This is right after I put the motor in.. I have more parts to put on to make it look purdy.. (about the only purdy thing on the truck is the engine).. I have since cleaned up wires and hoses.. I need to clean the engine bay and take some new pics (its been rainy/dirty here and with no inner fenderwells the engine gets dirty fast.

thanks guys. that blue paint doesnt harm the rubber in the hoses? but man it looks great. i cant wait until i get my engine cleaned up and get my intake. i ordered my new tires and rims today so little by little i am getting everything done.

Its not paint on the hoses. It is Pep Boys hose loom covering stuff.

o its not paint? i thought he said it was paint. Is it paint or not? and is it a special paint, if so?

I haven't really gotten a Chance to Clean under my hood either. I did, However, Replace my INtake Gaskets and Decided to paint the Upper intake While it was off. This is what it looks like.

As you can see, it's the only clean part under my hood. YOu can do little things like that. It took me about an hour to remove the intake and replace the Gaskets. I also took an Extra Half hour and Cleaned around the area were the intake was before I put it back. It's little things like that. It cost me about 15 bucks total. (Gaskets and Paint) I hope to be cleaning it this summer with Good Ole' Simple Green. I can Smell it now. :D

thanks guys for your help. Where do i get this cleaning stuff that yall are talking about? any auto parts store? and is there a special tire cleaner that is best to use on the engine. I know someone had mentioned that they used that in the engine compartment.

When I did mine I made it a one day project, got up in the morning, parked it with the engine bay sitting where sun would hit it all day. Let it cool, took the battery out, sprayed it with greased lightning all over everything, hoses it off with a garden hose, let it sit all day and put it back together at night. Ran fine, no problems. Now it's just as dirty from dirt roads and cross country travel.

Simple Green is available at many auto parts stores and hardware stores. I use Simple Green Max.. it seems to work better than regular Simple Green. Either way, its good stuff.

Hoses are loom covers
plastic and metal parts are Chrysler blue high temp engine paint.

I just noticed that the Simple Green Max spray bottle actually says to dilute it at least 1:1.. I didn't dilute it, and I doubt I will. It works good as a concentrate. I'm assuming since they put it in a spary bottle that they figured people would use it concentrated anyway.
