Oh well I still got a pretty good deal.

Hi all - new to this site, great info on here which has helped me fix quite a bit of the small issues with my Explorer. Blend door, Radio ect. I got the truck about 5 months ago (May 08), here's the details.

1998 Exploder XLT 4WD SOHC Motor
White with Tan Leather
Here's the good part...
Only 62,000 miles on it...
Purchase price = TWO GRAND :)

The truck is spotless, not a dent, ding or spot on it. It was a California truck that came to NJ/NY and sat for quite a few years. I picked it up from the original owner, did a full service on it and threw a set of tires on it.

It was the best 2 grand I have ever spent!

1. $21,000 in 1999 (gallon of gas was $0.98)
2. 30,000 in 1999
3. 186,759 in 2008 (gallon of gas now $3.89)

1. 1997 XLT 4x4 Sohc

Third and still going!

My 1st 1991 Eddie 4.0 5 speed 4X4, Special ordered purchased mid year 1990 new.
2 $12,000.00
3 000,002
4 Trade-in at 18,000 miles

2nd 1993 Limited 4.0 Auto 4X4, Special ordered (Ford would not let me have a Limited with a 5-speed) new
2 $18,000.00
3 000,004
4 Sold in 1995 for $14,000 at 16,000 miles. Used the money to order new Cobra convertible 1996

3rd 1999 Eddie Bauer 5.0 AWD new
2 $22,000
3 000,012
4 63,000 still have this one
These are great cars, as usual Ford had a better idea. I started buying Bronco IIs in 1984 and the Explorer was a natural progression.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if this has been done before but I am starting a new thread asking:
1. Which Explorer do you own (year, trim, engine, drive)?
2. How much did you pay for your Explorer?
3. How many miles did it have when you purchased it?
4. How many miles does it have now?
