MFT Update V3.10

Hello! I recently purchased a 2014 Explorer last weekend (MFT/Nav) and noticed from reading that a sync 3.10 update is available. I searched the Forums and Google but couldn't find an answer. Syncmyride says I'm current as of v3.6/2014. The dealer said they will run an update for free since I just bought it, but now that I'm seeing all these different Ax numbers, I'm wondering if my A4 unit is even eligible to be updated? The Service guy I talked to didn't sound too sure and just scheduled the appointment. Figure if not, saves us both time. Already had a crash or two when using nav so thinking maybe see some more stability.

V3.6 has several issues. They'll upgrade your MFT to at least 3.8, not sure if they are actually installing 3.10. But the A4 you're referring to, I assume, is the SD card in the slot. That is the version of the maps data, that is not a free upgrade. Current version is A7 or A8, can't remember.

Syncmyride is not always accurate unfortunately. As Lewisra mentioned, the latest upgrade that was made available was 3.8. There is a bit of mystery surrounding 3.10. Some dealers have it and have upgraded a few Explorers when specifically asked by the customer. Not sure why there doesn't seem to have been an 'official' release on Syncmyride. In any case, the SD card designation A* is inly for the map info it contains. I had the A4 card when I upgraded to V3.8 in my previous vehicle. The current software release for MFT is 3.10 (which is newer than 3.8 as that is actually 3.08). 3.10 can only be installed by a dealer via OASIS (Ford service website).

You map card (A4) is from roughly 2013/14. I would get yourself a newer one. A8 in theory should have been available as of Jan 1 but I haven't seen any yet. A7 is widely available on places such as ebay.

I'm struggling with this one, other MFT updates could be done by owner, now all of the sudden the only the dealer can install the latest update? Please let me know your thoughts on why the change. Also, what is OASIS? Thanks

I believe there was one other update that had to be done by the dealer. That was because it also required the installation of a then updated SD card which was the A4 card..
I haven't been able to find out what OASIS stands for. As jmr061 stated, it is a Ford Service website and unlike Ford Etis, it requires a login and password.
I just sent a PM to FordIVTteam to hopefully get some clarification on which is the latest officially released version since there has been no communications with owners regarding V3.10.

Ford Owner says to me that I have the latest update installed, that means v. 3.6 ( 3.6 !!! ) and DA5T-14D544-BD, all installed in september 2013. Where can I get such a file to re-install all ?

Apparently the latest MFT update is V3.10 and is a dealer install.
The Syncmyride website is not reliable as to the info on what the latest software version is. V3.6 is 2 versions behind. Not sure why you would want to reinstall an old version. Unless someone here has a copy you may have to go to a dealership but you might run into the same problem. Most likely you will have to pay in either case.

You can find the 3.10 files online. If you want to retain the Vehicle Health Report you'll have to edit some files. But I installed 3.10 myself and it works just fine in my 15 Ex Sport.

I'm running some errands I'll post when I get home. If you want a version with vehicle health report I can upload that so you don't have to edit the files.

It's also missing sync services if that's something you use I can try and get it back in the update.

First time I clicked that link my virus protection showed it has the ZEUS virus attached to it. OPEN AT YOUR OWN RISK. Second time it linked to v3.8 not v3.10.

Did you get a virus alert? Im re-downloading it on a different pc to scan it just to verify.

Edit: just downloaded and scanned it and found nothing.

I just took that update package and added the VHR app from 3.08 so you still get that functionality.

I don't have any 3.08 files uploaded. But if you run the update it will give you the success page after the update and it still shows 3.08 was successfully installed. The person who created the update package just used the same install complete screen from 3.08 since he didn't know how to updated that to say 3.10.

This is not an official 3.10 update, since ford has not released it for regular updates but dealership only.

It should work. I think the updates work from any version. But if not it just won't work.
