2015 Ford Explorer Sport
Hi everyone,

I have a new 2015 Sport and wondering if you auto start the car, the heated steering wheel comes on, but the seat does not. In my 2013, the seat would come on when auto started(this car did not have the heated wheel option).

Thanks,
csimon

Both should come on.

Have you checked the settings to see if the seats are selected? That was the way my 2011 worked. You had to select which items you wanted turned on. Not sure if the 2015 is the same.

Its in the menu on the left side of the dash board.

Is this in addition to climate control auto/last settings?

Yes. You have to specify which items you want turned ON with Remote Start. Page 127 of the Owner's Guide (3rd printing).

Hi everyone - sorry for the late response. I assigned that wheel and seat to come on the first day of ownership, including reading the owners manual cover to cover.

The dealer says the seat will not come on unless it is less than 32 degrees even if you have it assigned. Does someone have a 2015 sport to verify for me?

Thanks,
csimon

See page 154 of the 2015 Owner's Guide, 2nd printing.

Climate Control

Automatic Settings
In hot weather, the system is set to 72°F (22°C). The cooled seats are
set to high (if available, and selected to AUTO in the information
display).
In moderate weather, the system either heats or cools (based on
previous settings). The rear defroster, heated mirrors and heated seats
do not automatically turn on.
In cold weather, the system is set to 72°F (22°C). The heated seats are
set to high (if available, and selected to AUTO in the information
display). The rear defroster and heated mirrors automatically turn on.

A 'Search' came up with the following;

"The temperature for the heated seats to come on is 32 degrees or below as measured by the outside temp sensor."

This was found in post 30 of; http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=333741&highlight=auto+temp+seats

Thanks Peter - so weird that the wheel turns on without the seat.

Seats Heating on Ford Explorer Sport 2015.

Thanks Peter - so weird that the wheel turns on without the seat.

I just bought Ford Explorer 2015 Sport 2 days ago, and verified it that Seats heating turn on only when the outside temp is below 32. Denver had been getting some freezing temperatures so I had an opportunity to check that.

I was never a fan of Ford. If anything I loathed it after my experience with 1999 Ford Taurus Limited V6. Recently I visited Portland and got Explorer XLT from Avis to drive. After a week of drive I was sold. Came back to Denver on Thursday and bought the new Sport on Saturday. So far I am loving it.:)
