MFT Update V3.10

OK, I've downloaded the file to my flash drive but, I still don't know why I need it, what it does or improves outside of changing the version number to '3.10'. Why is this new update needed? Maybe I missed that part?

you don't NEED it unless you are having issues with your current version. However it is usually a good idea to stay as up to date as possible just like updates on your PC. I know many people on other sites have mentioned that navigation loads a lot faster on this version than previous versions.

OK then, it fixes some potential bugs. Thanks for that. I was curious about what this version did so, I attempted a search to find out and stumbled across something unexpected. A way to upgrade to sync 3 for previous Explorer models. Pretty spendy though. I'm not sure it's been posted before but, even if it has, no reason no to put up another reminder:

Same thing here. Said V 3.8

I take it this link is actually for 3.8 and not 3.10

It says 3.10 on the Ford site.

Please refer to my earlier post
That's why this 3.10 says 3.08 is installed. Since they didn't make 3.10 a user update they didn't make a 3.10 confirmation screen so The person that set this is re-used the 3.08 confirmation.

But the (my MFT) screen says to me (also): 3.10 (3.10.16180.EA and so on) !

Updated download link to include an updated VHR app.

I installed this on my 2016 Platinum with no problems. The screen shows 3.10 now. The only difference I noticed (I didn't look too deep) was that when I sync the clock with GPS it's correct now. On 3.08, when I did that it was 2 minutes slow. I had to manually set the hour ahead for daylight saving time. I don't remember if that was automatic before or not.

I don't believe it was automatic Tom and it isn't on my Sync 3 either.

I installed this 5 days ago. Today I tried to run Vehicle Health Check. It tells me it can't be run until the odometer is over 200 miles. The odometer is at 13,000. I've run the check successfully before the update. Anyone else see this? (I probably have driven less than 200 miles since the update)

Mine did this right after the update but after about 5 minutes it worked fine.

Looking back at earlier posts, I see VHR was added at one point. I wonder if I grabbed it before the update.

** Update: next time I ran it from the touch screen it worked. This updated the Ford website to show the software update.

I haven't been able to run VHR via voice command, though. It gives the double beep.

I've dropped off my '16 Ex Ltd for the dealer to install (or check that my vehicle is due for) the MFT v3.10 update tomorrow. My biggest complaint with current version is that the non favorite device will not reconnect after having been connected and then getting out of car (car turned off) and then getting back in and starting engine (think- refueling at gas station).
I'll update here with results. I'm still pretty unhappy with Ford over not having a FoMoCo upgrade path to SYNC 3.

My '16 Ex did get the update to 3.10. However, it does not completely resolve my issue. It worked once, but not the second time I tried it. So, I'm not sure precisely what the update includes, but it's not necessarily the thing I'm looking for (improved re-connect to non-favorite BT device at vehicle restart).

Just went from 3.7 to 3.10 using the links in this thread. Thanks very much for saving me the dealership hassle. It did audibly report it upgraded to 3.8 but the ford site says I'n now at 3.10.

Well upgrading to 3.10 didn't solve the problem I was trying to solve and I think it introduced a new one. My iPhone 7 running iOS 10.3.2 always disconnects from Bluetooth while I am on a call. Sometimes it will last 30 seonconds before it drops and reconnects and other times it takes 5 minutes. I listen to music via lightning cable to USB so Bluetooth only activates on a call. It creates confusion on my calls as it switches to the iPhone handset then back again after it reconnects.

To test this and all the various settings (turning off Bluetooth stereo, re-paring, pairing from MFT finding the iPhone and vice versa) I make a call to a BBC world streaming service 712.432.5335 so there is a continuous call.

After the update it seemed to work, or so I thought. I couldn't get it to fail for 7 minutes, the longest previous call without a drop was about 5 minutes. So I thought the update to MFT 3.10 solved the issue. But the first real call I received dropped the Bluetooth 30 seconds in and I did the dance with the handset. Problem not fixed. :(

Now for the new issue. Spotify, via the USB cable, now pauses each time a skip a track. Previously I could swipe on the phone, tap the next on the phone, or tap next on MFT and it would start playing the next song. Now it plays a moment, of the next song, then pauses and forces me to tap play on the MFT or the iPhone. This behavior does not occur using Bluetooth stereo and Spotify on the same phone.
Anyone encountered this? I'm in first world problem territory for sure, but damn it's annoying.
