I saw lefy custom 2 inch reciever that he put on the back of his 2gen for his bike rack and that gave me an idea...

I have a friend whos dad owns his own welding shop, so I talked to him and he was down to help me out...

The only cost of this was the 2inch reciever and the pin to hold an insert so all together under 30 bucks because he has some spare metal that he made it out of...

Here is where the hitch exits my bumper...

It is welded to part of my spare tire carrier seeing as my 33"s don't fit under there...

The insert that he made for me to hold my grill while tailgating, the hole is for a hose to drop down to propane tank and the round bars on the side slide out to hold up the side tables of the grill...

The grill all straped down, Just take of rachet and good to go...

Here you can see the grill in use, (notice the round bars are slid out in this picture)

My friend and I all setup (my 99 xplorer and his I think 73' bronco)

Sucks to say but we lost last night, we played a team that is great (private christan school=lots of money) and some bad calls like a 98 yard interception return...that was called back to the 50, GRRR!!! No matter the excuses we still were defeated but we will be back next week!!!

Sorry bout the size, I thought I resized them smaller...

...cool pics and cool hitch location...sorry about the loss but it looks like the tailgating was a winner...:D

Yeah it was pretty good overall, the only thing that kinda of sucks is with my hatch open it lets a lot of smoke in my car and now (still) my car smells like burgers and dogs...lol

...you can get a 12v clip on fan at wally world that cost about 10-12 bucks and it oscilates....i have one and need to get another...they work great...:D

Yeah, I also thought about opening the glass then the whole hatch and seeing if that will let more smoke out through the opening...

Not bad man I like the grilling setup..
glad to see someone else thinks this is a worthy mod.
good job

Yeah, I am loving it...(another game this friday lets hope we can win this one), but Yeah I wish that you would have shown off yours a bit earlier before I sold my bike...I hated taking off the front tire even though it is quick release and then trying to make it fit in the back around the huge sub box that was put in my car

hey, thats pretty sweet. now can you just use that for grills, bike racks and etc. or would it be strong enough for towing applications too. the reason i ask is because im looking at a bike rack but i would also like to tow with it too. thanks for your answer in advance.

p.s. NICE SUBS lol

I supose if you had it renforced enough you could use it for towing small applications, I knew if I wanted to tow something I would most likely borrow my step-dads F350, but when we were building it I stood on the end of a 2inch insert that stuck out about 5 feet and pretty much jumped on it. The suspension of the truck flexed with my but mounting stayed pretty steady. I would use it for any kind of cargo rack, I found out that the grill and a Large cooler we have, have the same dimension so If I hit up the lake for a day or something the cooler fits nice on the rack.

The subs were in the truck when I bought it, I leave the bass down pretty low, I mean you can still tell they are they but it is pretty low, but when I want to F around turn them up and they hit hard...The box sticks out to far for me so I am building a new one right now out of 1" mdf that will be a bit taller and wider, adn will have the same angle as back seat, so it doesn't have to be as space consuming, I want to cover it in leather but still not sure what the final plans are for it...

sweet, Whos needs a drive thru when you have that!

what are they? w6's? i had 2 w3's 10" and they hit hard. but now i have a memphis m class 10" and hits 5 times harder. lol

i wouldnt trust that for towing.... the welds look great and i would trust those, but the crossmember that it attaches to is thin stamped steel.....

good idea for the stove.... and other small things liek a bike rack and so on....

Yeah, They are W3's I believe...

I wouldn't tow anything with this (the way it is setup) but I was saying like have it reenforced to the actual frame then you could do some light towing but the most I will ever be hauling with this is the grill or cooler...
