Hello from Phoenix, AZ. My name is Greg. This is gonna serve as my rough draft registry/build thread OK I've been snipe'n this site for research, ideas and info for about 2 years now and I have to say thank you all for putt'n this thing together. I know my truck very well now with help and tips from this forum and of course busting some knuk on the sharp bits. So it's time to participate! I love this truck! I'm add'n to the fold my '94 Ex Limited. You know one of the purple one's. Dark Cranberry they call it. Not a bad color but a little soccer-momish. So that's gotta go! Got it from the original owner with 108k very well maintained miles, absolutely free of rust. If not for the front leather the interior is 10 of...
Edit: Photo bucket has royaly screwed over forums across the world!! I'll work on getting pics put back in here as best I can as time allows. Gonna take awhile for me to do all my threads though. Been looking at getting another Explorer for quite a while now due to the 260k+ miles on mine and me losing confidence in making it to wherever I'm going and back in it anymore. Been thinking all along I wanted another 2nd generation Explorer mainly because I just love the damn things. However, the TTB front end in the 1st gens were appealing as well. I'll leave it at this, I wanted either a 1st gen Explorer sport (getting hard to find, trust me!!) or a 2nd gen V8 AWD so I could eventually put that 5.0 in my current Explorer. Been...
well, it'll be a year this week that ive had my explorer and ive completed most of the mods ive planned so i thought it would be a good time to finally do my registry. this one is going to be extensive! my name is ken, if anyone ever wants to reach me my email is underground707@gmail.com or you can just message me here on the forum, im always on here wasting time. here's some info on my rig: 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT 2WD bought it for 12k and it was in pristine condition with only 60k miles on it. my current specs and mods can be found on my vehicle specs tab here's my build: this is how she looked when we brought her home. pretty much stock with a camper shell, class III hitch and brake controller this...
Originally a 4.0 SOHC, over reved it in a water hole that was up to the windows, (almost made it out) put the body onto a '96 5.0 AWD and made some 2.5'' lift blocks at the same time, 31'' muds for now, just installed the beefy 5.0 with the torque monster headers, got 25 miles on it now. Next is the 4406 swap, then the dana 44 swap with maybe 36's? Also looking to buy a winch and make a front bumper with a reciever, then mount the winch to a plate that I can slide in the front or back. I drove it bone stock for over a year before deciding to make it a toy, always loved these Expo's!
Hello fellow forum members. My name is Keith (BackBone) and here is a little about myself. I am a former mechanic turned electrician. I am a returning trombone player - hence the handle... :D I have a black 97 Mercury Mountaineer that I picked up about 4 years ago. It had 166K on the clock and a bad trans when I got it. It has 244K on it now. Funny thing is this whole time I had no interest in fixing up the Mounty. I actually was thinking of getting something different. Then I thought, 'why get rid of this truck. It has done me well these four years!' So I began looking deeper into this site and now have the bug to go wheelin! I don't want to do any insane stuff... just be able to see the countryside, do some fishing and maybe get to...
My 5L V8 XLT, the day I brought here home, right after a wash: ... Then noticed a broken taillight. /sigh It's got the funky green interior, which at first I wasn't sure about. It's grown on me, though. Other than the torn armrest, the only issues with the interior were a smoke smell, and human slime. It didn't take long for me to paint the grill, as I was never a fan of chrome, and it wasn't in excellent shape anyway. I also took off the plastic bugshield thinger, and found a healthy colony of ick under it. First real mod: 6 D-Cell MagLite. One of the things I carried over from my old Sport. The one surviving LED spot light from my Sport also got bolted on. Wired through a relay to come on with the reverse lights. The...
(I'm Xavier) Hey all. Sort of new here. I drive an Emerald Green 1993 Ford Explorer (93 is the model year, it was actually assembled in November 1992, so the truck is older than me by several months). It has the Eddie Bauer package and 2-wheel drive. I bought it used last year in December and it currently has 97,000+ miles on it. I recently had the transmission and O2 sensor replaced and I use it as a daily. Here's a photo: The photo was taken a couple weeks ago. In the time between it and now, the front left wheel center cover fell off so the center is now black. It has 2WD, which is fine since I don't off-road, but I would have liked the Limited's AWD or a simple 4x4 just in case I ever have to drive through rough road...
STATUS: Intermittent Oil Pressure, Engine Rebuild Coming Summer 2017. After 10 years on this forum, It's about time My Mounty gets a spot in the registry. This 1998 Mountaineer was my first car. Here is what it looked like when I first got it in August 2005. We've been through a lot together. This mounty has been hit on all 4 sides. The worst damage being done my my sister-in-law backing her F-150 into it TWICE because she couldn't see it one foggy morning. In July 2011, I picked up a 2003 Eddie Bauer. I parked the Mounty behind my house with plans to fix some quirks before selling it. Unfortunately it fell victim to vandalization on December 26th 2011. (Guess these kids didn't get what they wanted for christmas). It was...
Let me start off by saying every one has there view of there own version of there perfect vehicle. My style may differ from some, but its MY style. When we modify vehicles we are showing who we are. You just have to know how to see it to understand. ALSO A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERY ONE THAT HAS HELPED WITH INFORMATION FROM THE SITE SO FAR!!! With that said my story starts in late October/early november of 2016, when i picked up my 1999 ford explorer I quickly found out the vehicle has a metric **** ton of issues.... power steering system needs work. stereo needs work as it didn't. Needs tierods inner and outer. Needs tires... needs tuneup...badly Needs an oil change. needs a tail light housing. needs tail light pigtail needs wiper...
