Do I need something like the JL Fix86 or similar? Does the 2018 XLT have the fake engine noise? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know items like the Rockford DSR1, iDatalink Maestro AR and the PAC AmpPRO AP4-FD21 exists but I'm getting contradictory information on if any of them will work with the non-Sony 2018 8 inch head unit.

I'm wanting to replace all door speakers, add a JL Audio Stealhbox and use a 5/6 channel amp to power it all without losing any factory functionality (i.e. Sync 3 or factory features). I'm just concerned because it appears the 2018 changed protocalls and I want to make sure I buy the right stuff.

You seem very knowledgable about Ford Explorer audio upgrades. I wonder if you can help me out? I've read all of the posts concerning audio upgrades in Explorer's but I can't seem to get any information on my 2018 XLT with 8 inch screen but not Sony.
