  • Can anyone help? I have 178000 on my 98 4.0l SOHC and when I went to emissions test I failed for a P0453 code. I had diagnostics done and Ford said that sensor isn't even on my truck! What do I do to pass emissions test. I know its an EEV code, so there may be a vacuum leak somewhere in the fuel system, maybe the charcoal canister or a line?
Hello again, my 98 explorer 4.0L SOHC has had several parts replaced discussed in previous posts. at 173000 miles I still need help to finish smoothing my engine performance. Basically I have fixed the intake air leaks, cam and crank sensor, plugs and wires, some vacuum hoses, serpentine belt tensioner, belt, alternator and battery, clean MAF, IAC and perhaps another that were cleaned or replaced. It started at 12mpg and is now 16+ but still has a little rough idle and like a shiver, performance drops using the a/c including running rougher. Can anyone help get it to smooth out and a little more power for the a/c. I bought it third hand and it was better than this.
