    Well, that didn't sound good!

Sales guy and GM were pretty awesome to deal with and saved the deal. The finance lady I had was a big hot mess. She did not have her **** together.

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Oops- missed the last part. I could have demanded lemon law action, but after the third tranny fix attempt before I even asked, they first offered to do a "swap" with any other Ford- at that dealership- of equal or greater value. This adds an addition vehicle purchase and credit run though...

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Well, to be exact, in June, my "customer participation" amount is listed as 3783.61 Less mileage charge {[7479+(0.5X(7449-7449)120,00 <truncated> so I have no idea wtf the rest of this formula is supposed to read. I got an actual sheet, but I tossed it with the rest of my experience. - DMV fees...

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Just so everyone is filled in, I had such a horrible experience, I couldn't even bring myself to come back and update here. I finally finished the buyback in July. It took 7 months, all the while making payments, and even then, I had to write a check for 4K. It turns out they charge you .25...

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Can you believe this **** STILL isn't resolved? Over 4 months. Tomorrow, Im making calls to the Glass Tower.

    Well, that didn't sound good!

So, just waiting to finish paperwork and already had a new explorer picked out. Then a hail storm came through and destroyed that plan. Lol. Guess another week or two for this "interesting" life experience.
  7. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Yes, and I think its worth noting- I didnt name drop, pull strings or call any of my contacts. I called the Ford Customer Service 1-800 number, and let this whole thing play out as it would with any other customer. So my experience should be roughly the same as anyone else that has this kind...

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Btw- so Ford is getting the paperwork together, and they are giving me credit in full purchase price towards an equal or greater value vehicle. This means that the value of the broken one will be seen as a trade in towards the new one, so an almost zero tax burden, and title and license are a...

    Well, that didn't sound good!

So, I had three instances where something happened. I had 2 times when I was driving at highway speed and went to make a pass and felt a "binding clunk" for lack of a better description. I took notice, but it didn't trigger a code or anything. The third instance my wife was driving. She...

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Well, mine blew up at 7k miles. I got the allocation, but Ford hasnt called it in yet, so still waiting. One reason why Im trying not to stir the pot here, because there are many different things that will be affected if I start burning bridges. I have not once raised my voice or made this...

    Well, that didn't sound good!

I'm actually considering all options including outright give back and wait for the new raptor or expedition.

    Well, that didn't sound good!

So while I'm waiting, I dropped off a company truck at the same dealership. Noticed my exploder still in the air minus drivetrain parts. Don't know what they will do now, but i did hear that the 2016 sport and platinum are having serious issues. There were some design changes in the...

    Well, that didn't sound good!

So, they rebuilt the transmission, and it broke on the test drive. Then they replaced the transmission altogether, and it did the same thing again. Ford is offering a buyback, but I don't know the details yet. I'm uncertain what happens, but will share it as it goes along.
  14. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Well, thats what these forums are for! I am eager to find out what happened. My dealer called me, and they had a Ford engineer already there and helping. That was either lucky timing or amazing response time.
  15. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Well, I got Ford involved. They are looking into it, and already are trying to make it right for me somehow.
  16. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Yeah, so new PTU didnt fix it, so they are pulling the transmission again. Its obvious the tech hasnt a clue whats wrong. sigh. Ill be calling Ford I guess.
  17. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Well, got the call that they finished. Or so I thought.... After replacing just about everything, it wont disengage the shift lockout. So its stuck in park for the next few weeks as more parts will surely have to be ordered. Here is the laundry list of parts replaced so far-
  18. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

I don't know. I'm thinking that might be a bit tacky. I got the call that it will be done tomorrow. Which is good, because my Raptor has needed brakes for a month, but I need one or the other for work, and I think I've warped the rotors at this point. Maybe they will give me a good deal. Haha

2016 Ford Explorer vs Jeep Grand Cherokee

Thanks for answering. Okay, I think I know what you are talking about now, but I'll have to wait to get my Platinum out of the shop to see that list from the left cluster. I dont mean to sound abrasive, but on the Raptor forum, we had this kid that owned a Ranger, and a guy that owned a Dodge...

2016 Ford Explorer vs Jeep Grand Cherokee

Well, I went from a Sport to a Platinum, and the acceleration on mine was identical. So, your test vehicle must have had a problem. One of my friends has his sport still, and we get into friendly driving here and there, and he doesn't pull me. Coolidge- what are you talking about features on...

Sony Sound System VS Platnium System

I'm not all that impressed with it, but it IS better than the one from the 2013 Sport I had. Yeah, it's not what you buy the explorer for, but it isn't terrible. I think the sound in our SHO sounds better. I've bought the shaker upgrades in my last couple Shelbys and mustangs. They suck. I...
  22. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Still waiting.... It's been 3 weeks, and still waiting for parts. Yikes. Nothing warms my heart more than paying a car payment for a month I don't have it. Lol
  23. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Well, and that is what I will do, but in the heat of the moment, I was pretty angry. As I'm sure you were too. Tow companies don't have great service usually anyway, because they don't really have to. You need them whether you like them or not when you need them. When you don't, they aren't...
  24. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

So, got the call today that the damage is extensive. They think the converter went out, which in turn damaged clutch plate, some seals and other drivetrain parts. I will give a detailed rundown on all the parts and a better explanation when I have a chance to talk to the tech, and not just the...
  25. DubbsFaris

    Well, that didn't sound good!

Well, truth be told, I called my dealer, told them what was going on, and they had a tow truck to me in 45 minutes. They fixed it. They did take care of me, and I'm going to make sure it's known. I really don't have a dealer that I'm happy with on the sales side, but one I use for all my...
