Just bought a reman transmission (5r55e) and the tag on the torque converter says to match up the stud with the orange paint to the orange paint mark on the flywheel. Trouble is I don't see any paint on the flywheel. Any ideas? I don't want to get this thing back together and have a vibration...

Has anyone bought a transmission from ford? I'm thinking about buying a 5r55e re manufactured unit from them rather than rebuilding mine do to some hard parts failure and quicker turn around. They come with a 3 year warranty. Any one had any luck with these? Thank you

Hi all. My 2000 4.0l Explorer rarely goes into reverse. I usually have to shift back and forth between drive and reverse until it finally engages, sometimes with a thump. And if backing up I give it a little extra gas it makes a slight rattling sound. I have done the TSB update 2 or 3 years ago...

I forgot to mention. It does seem to have some engine braking when forcing a downshift but seems to be slow to do it.
