400,000k Sheesh!! 22's wouldn't effect the rear axle, maybe the diffs. but i doubt it. The 22's are going to be worth more than the truck probally, so id get a alarm or some other type of secuity device on it if you do get them.

Its probally the MAF sensor, Ever since I changed mine, it (explorer) has'nt done the symptoms your talking about, cleaning it wont help, it prob. makes it worse.You can prob get one at youz local picknpull junkyard, point blank

Yes, they're like all three or four hoses going into one valve under tha hood,, (I had to disconnect them while replacing this trans)

I just had the same predictiment, all youz gotta do is pull the belt off, (just use a 1/2 socket drive on the tensioner) then turn it clockwise from the crank shaft,,, you might have 2 pull the plugs though

Yes that was'nt to bright of Ford, those 2 round things that look like freeze plugs (servos i guess), when I pulled my burned up A4LD off mine didnt have the heat sheild but the one out of the '93 I pulled did have one,,,,,(I thought the modulator was in the far rear of the Transmission?)
