I need pictures of a 2002 ford explorer wire bundle. The drivers side window quit working. I understand there could be a broken wire. Help

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

I had similar electrical issues with my 02 xlt. The dome lights would stay on until the battery saver feature turned them off, the accessory delay wasn't working, the driver side puddle light didn't work, the keypad on the door would set off the alarm when I pressed it, the door ajar light would flash and beep at highway speeds, the radio would shut off as soon as I turned the key off, the delayed accessories didn't work, etc. Most recently all 4 windows stopped working.

A lot of electrical issues can be traced back to broken/damaged wire(s) in the boot between the body and the driver's door. I found 2 broken wires and repaired them. The thin black ground wire was broken and after repairing it all was back to normal. When the windows stopped working, I repaired the thick black ground wire and the windows now work like a champ.

Here is the thread for removing the door panel: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums//showthread.php?t=303524

Here is a great thread for checking for broken/damaged wires, thanks to synyster for this awesome write-up: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums//showthread.php?t=270081

Be sure to take your time when looking for broken/damaged wire(s). Check all the wires for breaks/damage. When you think you're done looking, look again, and again, and again. A bright flashlight can be very helpful.

If you don't find any faulty wires, here is a great link for troubleshooting the power windows, thanks to theofam for this great link Dead Link Removed
I have this downloaded and can email it upon request.

This troubleshooting guide will help you determine if it is the switch, wiring, or motor.

Wiring diagrams are available as well. Let me know.

Please keep us posted as feedback helps others reading this post looking for a fix to the same or similar issue!

Hope this helps out. :biggthump

Thanks Rondo.. at least I have a place to start... my sister in law just dropped off her truck for me to check it out.. its doing the same thing.. alarm going off and lights/windows not working properly...
also daytime light not on... that could be a seperate problems.. or maybe just ground issues...
anyways, would you happend to have the electrical diagram??
if so, is it possible to send it to me via PM?
thanks again..

took the drivers door apart and quickly checked over the wires... I noticed there were couple wire spliced already... must of had some wiring problems before... I left it until I get hold of a wiring diagram.. AND over night the alarm went off at 4AM.... had to disconnect the battery... I'll check all the wires with ohm meter.

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

Could you be more specific? What component are you having trouble with?

The liftgate doesn't have a diagram, per say. However, the componets associated with the liftgate do.

Let me know what you are looking for and I will try my best to help out.
