As far as I know, there isn't a an easy way to do it. I THINK.. don't take my word for it.. you can drill a tap and drain/refill it that way and put a plug in it. I'm not 100% sure, though.

There's a plug on the left side of the differential housing. Use a 3/8" drive ratchet & extension to remove it. Access it between the driveshaft and the fuel tank.

Do you have a limited slip differential? If not the friction modifier won't help.

I didn't know about the plug on the diff. Nice.

Read your axle tag on the driver's door to tell if you have a limited slip.

two numbers....open carrier. Letter and a number, limited slip.

Thanks ranchero. I will look into this tomorrow. Might be a great excuse to lock this bad boy up in the back. Gonna try and get the air put of my power steering lined tomorrow..... Ahh the projects

I hear that. I just bought my explorer...I got a list as long as my right arm to do to it, but it's mostly small stuff I can do over the winter.

First non essential item I want is a gear driven locker in the rear!! I can do it myself, but I don't have a lot of $$ to spend right now with christmas being Tuesday.
