Finding Factory Door Code (Securicode)

i was told it is impossible to delete the factory door code. Maybe the code for the screen is different from the door code and the factory code for the screen is something like 0000 or 1234 or something??

When I originally set my custom code using the my Ford touch interface, I used the factory code to start the process. Now the factory code does nothing in the mft interface. I was able to set a custom code using the factory code and the outside key pad.

The MFT is so messed up, it's a wonder anything works at all. That said, read you're Manual and follow the instructions to reset the "Code" you want using the Outside Key Pad. It's the only way it worked for me. And No, the factory Code is not erased......best regards Plum

Hey MizzouMan_2000,

I wanted to touch base with you and see how things are progressing. If all else fails, you can mention this to your dealer the next time you stop by for an oil change. Keep us in the loop and let us know how this resolves.

I deleted the factory code too! Did you find an answer? Can we get the code back? Just got my Explorer Saturday and I'm afraid I have broken it beyond repair.

Welcome to the Forum 2013 fORD.:wavey:
It isn't possible to delete the factory code. It is still there even after you have entered your own personal code. Is your problem that you don't know what the factory code is or is it that the keypad doesn't recognize it?

Hi 2013 fORD,

Are you referring to your five-digit Keyless Entry code? If so, go to your dealership with personal identification (such as a Driver's License) and the vehicle's documentation with the VIN and your name on it (such as your Vehicle Registration). Your dealer may be able to retrieve your code using diagnostic equipment; there may be a charge for this service.

Crystal, I posted a picture in this thread of where the code is shown. I assume all 5th gen Explorers have it shown there. No need to pay a dealer to retrieve this info unless there code is no longer displayed there. For the purpose of posting the photo, I have overwritten my code with 0's.

Peter - I do recall that it seemed like I had the ability to delete the factory code on our 2013 Sport, (but I didn't try it to see if it stopped me :) )

You can change the code but according to the Owner's Guide, it cannot be deleted. I'm assuming that it must be stored in memory somewhere where it can't be overwritten or deleted. This must be some sort of backup safety feature in case you forget the personal code that you have entered.

I did THE EXACT same thing as you describe, posted about it on this forum and everyone also told me "you can't delete the factory code"... I say, to a degree, yes you can... MFT no longer recognizes the factory code. But the body controller is the keeper of the code. I had to have my body controller replaced, and ended up with a new master code, but MFT still doesn't recognize it.

However, if you look in the manual, you'll find that there is a way to program a custom code using the number pad on the door.

You are incorrect Peter. I dont know about other models, but my 2013 Sport I definitely was able to delete the factory code.

You cannot erase factory code. You can only add a code.
From latest manual
"You may also program a personal entry code through the MyFord Touch
or MyLincoln Touch system. Refer to the MyFord Touch or MyLincoln
Touch chapter.
Tips:
• Do not set a code that uses five of the same number.
• Do not use five numbers in sequential order.
The factory-set code will work even if you have set your own personal
code.

Erasing a Personal Code
1. Enter the factory-set 5-digit code.
2. Press and release the 1•2 on the keypad within five seconds.
3. Press and hold the 1•2 for two seconds. This must be done within
five seconds of completing Step 2.
All personal codes are now erased and only the factory-set 5-digit code
will work."

With all due respect, is it possible some of us are mistaken ?!?
Or the manual states something that is maybe off the mark a bit ?

after all, NONE of us have encountered any issues with the MFT programming yet (that's sarcasm in case anyone misses it :) )

I'm going to try this at lunch.. if I remember right MFT lets you delete the factory code (which it shouldn't), but I think the factory code still works if you do the programming from the keypad itself. Has anyone that deleted the factory code tried a master reset to see if it comes back?

See next reply for instructions on how to fix

upon further analysis it appears that when it comes from the factory, the factory code is programmed as a factory code AND a user code. When you delete it from MFT you're deleting the user code. You can add the factory code back as a user code by doing the add code method from the keypad, and instead of a personal code use the factory code again. This will put MFT back in it's original state when you picked up the car.

so process....

(from outside keypad)
DELETE ALL CODES
1) Enter Factory Code
2) Press 1*2 within 5 seconds
3) Press and Hold 1*2 for 2 seconds (within 5 seconds of step 2)

Add Back Factory Code
1) Enter Factory Code
2) Press 1*2 within 5 seconds
3) Enter Factory Code again
4) Press 5*6 to finish programming

This should put MFT and keypad in the same state it came from the factory

Hey guys/gals... appreciate the help. Im not being very clear sorry. I have the card and yes its on a white index glossy. I went into the SYC touch screen to change it. It asked me if I want to add it or delete the original. I deleted the one that is preprogrammed and on that card. So now there is nothing in the system. If I try to create new or use the old one it doesnt register. I cant make one and it wont let me pull up or use the factory one. Make sense? It BLOWS!!!!! hahaha

The code will always stay on the vehicle hard drive, if you have factory warranty takes the vehicle to your local dealer so they can reprogram it at no cost.

So about a month ago I had the body control module replaced. The BCM is what contains the factory code, so I have a new factory code and lost my custom code. I finally took the time to program a new custom code, but used the door keypad to do it. Then, for the hell of it, I decided to try the MFT interface. I think the first time, after I entered the code and pressed OK, it did nothing but clear out the code entry field. But I kept trying, and once it actually accepted the code.
