Hey y'all,
I'm a dork, or so I think at the moment.
I have the 4.0 in front of the 5r55e auto.
I was rolling along until I lost 2nd, and 3rd gear.
Reverse, 1st, 4th, and 5th seemed fine. You just had to wind out 1st to get to them.
Took out the valve body, took it to PTP in Houston and bought a replacement in case the solenoids were bad even though there was a small tear on the upper gasket. Hey, it's a 2001 with 155k on it...why not try and eliminate possibilities?
So, I buy the valve body, and a new servo gasket, put them in and every gear wants to go in forward...even park, and neutral.
Starting to understand why I feel like a goof ball?
Someone please draw the goofball a picture in the sand so he can get on with his life. I'm killin' me! OK, maybe not killin' me, but definitely taking the short drive to crazy. Mercon V is expensive.
