Ok, It has been done know since Tierra Del Sol... The whole weekend went great! I ended up breaking a motor mount on the last day just before we left so I didnt get to resume the on road test till just last week when I got that fixed. It is fixed now and here are the results.

-Powerband is excellent compared to the 4.0.It takes off much easier now. Passes easier as well.
-It definately sounds awesome. I will get a sound bite on here Tomorrow hopefully. It is very loud the way I have it set up right now, but I think I really like it this way.
-It was 1 year of torture I went through but I can proudly say it was worth it! Best Mod I could have done IMO.
-Last but not least, FUEL mileage differences.........
* Sorry I wont be able to tell you till tomorrow or the next day when I go to fill up the tank again

I did fill it up once already but I couldnt count that because of all the four wheeling and lead footing from Tierra Del Sol. That wouldnt be acurrate. For those who were wondering... I got about 11 miles a gallon while 4 wheeling. Heh... Hope that doesent continue :p

Man, I remember when you started this. Congrats on an excelent job. For those who dont know Chief went through a lot to make this happen and its probably the cleanest 302 swap you will find.
Great job

Thank-You both very much for the compliments. I appreciate it. It did take a lot but I come out of my house every morning and get into it with the biggest smile you will ever see!
I am very sorry i wasnt able to get the video/audio for yall today, but I will try my best tomorrow.

Oh yeah and I filled up today to see about gas and with a combined city/ little highway I was getting about 13 miles to the gallon. I would expect to see about 15 maybe if I was just taking a trip and driving highway only. One thing I think might help a little is I am gonna get a high temp thermostat for the engine to hopefully let it warm up a bit and run closer to normal operating temperature. This might allow me to get a little better gas mileage. Right now it was really hot the last couple days here, like right at 90 degrees out, and My Electric fan never even comes on at All! The engine temp doesent even get close to normal. I might have went a little overboard with that radiator:) I will let you guys know if that helps at all. It will be nice though to 4X4 with the A/C on in 100 degree heat without worrying about my engine getting hot.
till later,
Tim

Followed your thread from the beginning. Glad to see it finally completed. Will miss all the stuff you posted, but all good things must end.

Agreed!

I am in the process of getting SVO and friends to 100% finance my future Cobra motor in the 2001 AWD :p

Right.... :burnout:

On a serious note, your truck looks great.

Awsome man. Glad to see it all finially came together! When do you want to make an appointment for mine?

Chris

Congratulations! I really enjoyed your thorough write up. I imagine it will help a lot of people out on similar projects, along with making a lot of people want to do similar projects!!!

Thanks everyone! I still lagged today on the sound clip... I apoligize, and promise to make a valiant effort tomorrow! On another note for those of you who are sad to see this project end.... It looks like I just scored on a Dana 44 high pinion front end with Disk brakes, AND a Ford 9 Inch rear end for my truck! So another saga begins soon on those projects! Those of you who are familar with me know that a thorough write-up will be submitted for all and with good pictures of progress. I will tell you though that I WILL NOT let these projects kick my #ss again on time. I will make sure everything is ready so that when I take something off the truck the new part is ready to go in without putting my truck out of comission longer than a weekend. That is my Vow:)
cuz its too fun to drive!!

So I got a video/audio but now I cant post attachments.... Why the change? Anyone know??? Is it just me, or does anyone else hate the new website format? Even the P.M's area is more confusing now... This Buggs me!

Oh yeah, I ended up not getting those axles, so I'll have to wait for another deal to come along. The Ford nine inch was not a High Pinion so I just didnt buy the truck.

Dont know if you're talking about the 44 or the 9, but there never was a factory HP 9". Currie makes an HP 9" 3rd member, but they are arguably overrated.

Oh, and nice to see the project done.
