I’ve been searching on the threads and web and just can’t find a lot of good info on Valve Body Lubricants after you clean it out (brake cleaner). I have 4R70W and am going to use a Teflon spray. I just haven’t found the right stuff to use here locally to buy at the store.

It would be good to see what people have used in the past or what you recommend for the Valve Body Lubricants.

Good/Bad Valve Body lubricants?

What kinds have you used?

Were did you purchase and average price?

You Are Going to have to go to a trany shop and buy the teflon spray Icant remember the Brand But its the same brand that makes the trany cooler flush.I have not been able to find it locally either but tranny shops have it and some will sell it and some wont. I believe you can also use wd-40 or just plain vasoline are you tearing it down for a rebuild?

What's wrong with ATF?

For parts cleaning, most shops use an aqueous part cleaner (Surfactant and water rince). Blow dry with compressed air.

Transmission fluid for the VB, and there is an assembly lube just for the other components. It is blue, like grease, comes in a tub like grease, and all trans parts stiores sell it. Good luck,

I have used two different brands of Valve Body lubricant, both teflon and both made for that purpose. Dr. Tranny is the maker of one, and the other I'm drawing a blank on at the moment. I got them both at Axiom (Aceomatic) - my local trans parts house.

PS. I have been on vacation, and will be gone soon for another few days in case anyone wondered where I have been.

Brake cleaner is only good as a cleaner, not as a lubricant. WD-40 is good after it is sprayed with brake cleaner. If you want to get a special lubricant just for this purpose, then you have 2 choices. Axiom has M465VS Valve body lubricant spray ($11.70), and Dr. Tranny from TransmissionPartsUSA ($6.99).

Thanks for everyones input. I ended up using WD 40 and ATF.

If I had the time to wait for shipping I would have went with Dr. Tranny. I dont have a Axiom local store or any other local store that carry those products.
