Ok...so for a while I have wanted to install one of these...I didnt want to put the sender in the pan as i think that is a bad idea with as little ground clearance that I have since i off-road, so I decided to put the sender inline with the lines as they went into the radiator. I did some searching for this, but was not able to find any good pics of how it looked or how to do it, so I jsut went at it and this is what I came up with.....It seems to work well, no leaks. I got an auto-meter tranny temp gauge from summit racing as well as an f-150 steering collumn gauge pod plus a flexa-lite tranyn cooler all for around 120 bucks shiped to my door. It all got here the day after I orderd it too, gotta love living close to the warehouse :D Ok on to the pics of the sender and gauge, none of the cooler, sorry.

Ok, here is the sender in the line..I used a 3/8" brass 't' to put the sender in, as well as a 3/8" nipple to put the 'T' into the rad. pretty simple, jsut remember the tefflon tape

It was a pretty simple install...very easy, with very basic electrical knowledge the only thing you need....Hope this helps someone who want to do this, but dont have an idea where to start.

wow seems simple enough i might try it, but this probably doesnt work with a 5 speed does it lol, how long did the whole install take and how did u get the wires back into the cab?

took about 3 hours, and that includes a trip to the hardware store, and no i dont think it iwll work with a manual tranny as they dont have lines that run to the radiator to cool them off....wire goes into the cab via a grommet that is on the firewall in the drivers footbox area.

got a better pic of the gauge pod?
how well did it fit?

That is a nice, neat installation! I would suggest putting on some 1/4" split loom over the red wire to finish the installation. It protects it from heat, sharp edges, and from getting caught on tools while you are working.

honestly i am not impressed with the pod. dosent fit all that well, and there is really no way to secure it to the collumn, but it does serve its purpose well, so thats good. i would give it a 7 out of 10
