Cool  been thinking about this too make sure to post a follow up after u get in and would like to see what ya come up with for the mounting/wiring.

I look forward to seeing pics of your install.

OK i have been reading allot of peoples e-fan wright ups. i have seen allot of ways to get the new fan on the stock fan shroud. what I'm wondering is if anyone as used fiber glass to make a clean mold? and if not how well to you guys think it will hold up? thanks for any info.:D

what I'm talking about is modingthe stack shorud and the e fan shroud to make a stock looking fan. any one think the fiber glass will hold? would like some input be for i try. thanks :D

If you build a wooden frame, and hand lay 5 or 6 layers of fiber, and allow it to set up long enough, fiberglass will look awesome and last forever.

thanks! what fan controller would you guy recommend for a 2 speed fan?

Progress!

:Dso i picked up a new radiator today(finaly!) and made some progress. got the fan trimmed to fit and ready to wire up.

couple questions, where would be a good place to put the temp probe for the fan controller? well i guess one question lol on to some pics :D

fits nicely i think :)

think this gap will affect the cooling?

Please do check to see how much the fan can flex towards the radiator. Any radiator obstruction will create a lot of vacuum, collapsing the center of the fan towards the radiator.

was planing to put a spacer in there so it doesn't flex. lol
maybe coper tube? but i don't want it to push though. maybe a washer on the rad end?

You could go either way, just remeber the whole fan will flex, not just the outer (flat) edges. Mine is spaced out an inch and seems to be OK

what kind of car did that fan come out of?

its out of a ford taurus.

do you know what year it is? i went to a junk yard today and i couldnt find one with the 3 wires on it. ....they only had 4 Tauruses there

LIfeguard, I'm interested in seeing how you come with this. I'd love to see pictures of how you actually mount the fan and shroud to the radiator.

I'm also wondering about your idea for a fiberglass shroud. I think it is possible. I'm wondering if it would be possible to use the stock fan shroud as a partial mold for part of the shroud. Essentially, cut up a stock shroud and the Taurus shroud to create a template and lay the glass over that. If the right cloth and resin were used, it should end up plenty strong enough.

If I can find a shroud off a third gen and a Taurus, I may see about giving it a try.

well i haven't mounted the fan yet. waiting to do it when my ac parts get hear, so i can do it all at once. but i am going to try to use just the push through mounts and see how they work.

I'm looking to get this done. Any update. Any improvements on MPG?
