I need to figure out how to run speaker wire from the door through the rubber boot on the driver side. The issue is that black plastic connector, I have read that you can drill a hole but i dont understand if you need to drill the door or the plastic connector? I am using monster 16 gauge speaker wire that has the plastic tubing so the hole would have to be big enough for that. If anyone has some suggestions I would be glad to hear them!

can you push a coat hanger through then take electrical tape the speaker wire to the hanger and then pull it back through di that on a couple other cars.hope this works for you.

That's what I've done as well

well see for the other three doors I dont think fishing it through will be a problem but the driver door has a plastic connector and i dont think you can just fish the wire through it

what i have done on my 03' was run the wire through the boot and connector, and then on the inside i ran the wire through an open hole located near the connector on the inside by the kick panels.

Quick thing--if you drill your own holes, be sure to drill the hole in the body and the hole in the door at different heights, by a few inches. That way, when you open the door, the wire twists, not pulls.

Good luck!

I just ran speaker wires into my doors tonight. Worked pertect. Drivers doors are always tougher. I have found that if youo pull the boot ends off then drop the lead down from the outisde in, you can feed the wire to the bottom of the kick panel area where you can grab them. You will likey need to pull back some of the rubber housing on the wall.

Regarding the plastic fixed stuff or drilling... use an angle drill and a uni-bit. Ensure you install rubber or watertight gromets and wire loom the exposed wire.
