My 2003 explorer sport driver side head light quit working. Figured the bulb went out so I replaced it. Still doesn't work. The passenger head light works fine. All the marker lights work fine. No power to the drivers side head light. Are the head lights driven from two different power sources? Wires look good. Nothing seems burnt. Any ideas on where to start looking?

Check your owner's manual. If you don't have one, Dead Link Removed. My '02 XLT has a separate fuse for each low beam headlight. The fuses are located in the power distribution box under the hood.

Location of Power Distribution Box, driver's side next to brake fluid reservoir, behind battery, toward windshield:

The #43 Fuse is a 10A Mini Fuse for the driver's side low beam:

Hope this helps out!

Thanks. I will take a look tonight. Maybe I will get lucky and it is just a fuse. Thaks also for the link to the manual. The truck din't come with one and I didn't find it searching the site. Must have missed it.

Hopefully you will get lucky with it being a fuse!;) Keep us updated.

Almost a funny story. Problem is fixed. Prior to the post I had my 17 year old son check all the fuses and make sure none were burned. We didn't have a manual so he pulled them all one at a time and put them back. Fuses were good so I bought a head light. Still didn't work so I posted here. With the manual you posted I checked the correct fuse and the slot was empty. Son put it back in off one slot in a blank. Put the fuse back in the correct slot and put in the new headlight and all works great. Thanks again for the time on this. Saved me some bucks at Ford.
