do you have a block heater?

Does the engine turn over very slowly, or does it just not start?

If the engine is turning over very slowly:

Opening your hood and just having the sunlight on everything could warm things up enough to get you going. -10 (Celsius I assume) isn't that cold that you should have any trouble starting, but you might. -10 Fahrenheit, (-23 celsius) I could definitely see you having trouble starting on any battery that isn't really new without a block heater.

If you are talking about -10 celsius, I'd recommend you have your battery tested. If it is good, your solution is probably a block heater.

If the truck just doesn't start:

Test your starter and fuel pump relays. Also test your ignition coil. Test to see if anything is drawing power from your battery with the truck off.

I hope you can understand all this, I will try and translate to french later if you are having trouble.

One last thing I forgot to add. It could also be a sign of your starter motor wearing out.

You shouldn't have a problem in -10 deg C. My explorer starts in -20 deg F no block heater, ethanol blended fuel, and a 5 year old optima red top battery.

I would definitely check the battery (load test) and that the battery terminals are clean. If that doesn't solve it check the wiring and starter.

fwiw, my ex-wifes explorer has trouble starting at -10 with a 1 year old interstate battery and non blended fuel. It had an optima in it that was around 7 years old, and it would pop right off at that temperature.... IMO, optimas are just damn good batteries in the cold.

Here at home we do not usually from -10 this is very rare .
I did the cleaning and verification of the battery cables everything is ok.

I also weighed the water in each compartment of the battery it's ok too.

I check the fuel filter it's ok. and gasoline arrives well after the hose when I turn the ignition key

this is surprising. I turn the key .the engine turn but will not start.

I let the truck 5 minutes. I put the contact and it starts the engine without problem

do you have a block heater?

 I return to this question I said no.
may be a little too fast
or is this block heater if there is one on my truck?? and what it looks like

:exp:

A block heater replaces one of the freeze plugs on the passenger side of your block. It has an electrical cord coming out of it to plug into your house to warm the engine.

Your problem does not sound block heater related.... Maybe sticky or clogged fuel injectors or your ignition coil is going bad....

 The injectors are brand new, I will look into the ignition coil

Hello All,
I recently had a similar problem, a few days ago.
It was -9ºC in the morning, and when i tried to start my truck, the engine cranked at a normal speed (more than 1500 RPM) but it didn't start. I tried a few times, and heard what sounded like it was trying to fire, but not getting fuel. I pushed the pedal all the way to the floor and cranked the motor, multiple times, and it finally started (at least 15 tries later, with about 3 seconds per try and 30 seconds between tries so i wouldnt burn out the starter). The noise it made after starting was a horrible whine that lasted a minute or so, then it just went away and the truck' been runing normal since... what could this be
