okay, i have been asked a bunch of times and have posted pics of the mounts on facebook and here and there on the forum here,,

so,

i decided ,, i need to post a set of pictures everybody interested can see , and maybe even copy,,
so here they are,
top mounts look like this,,
391618_10152213832540165_1703269512_n.jpg

and the bottom look like this,

there are some things that must be added like gusseting on the upper mount to handle hard driving,,

so go nuts, but remember, this is done on your own, i will not be held responsible for any damage you may do to your rig,

figure it out and make a set of them and add a set of coilovers and get rid of the t bars

I probably aught to go this way pretty soon. I went to adjust my suspension to level it only to notice that the head was broken off one of the adjuster bolts flush with the opening for the threads... Still not sure how I am going to get it out, but fortunately, my suspension isn't that far from level right now.

Is that top mount strong enough to hold the weight of the vehicle?

How about some linkage to all your odds and ends?

in the top pic , on the front of the spring pocket, you can see the gusset i welded on, i put one on each side, and a limit strap too
i will add pics of them later

So, are you saying that without the lift, and with the coil seat at the low position, and the shocks you linked second, this setup would put an explorer at approximately stock ride height? Or did you mean to use the ones you linked second for a vehicle with stock knuckles?

it could, but it may droop out too far , although a limit strap would take care of that,,

but it may not have enough up travel,,

a shorter shock with as much travel would be better,,

i have never actually measured a stock shock to see what the extended and collapsed lengths really are,,

if you have , maybe add them in a post ,

yes it is,, that is why i say it shouldn't be that hard to copy,,

in fact, i think i may do that for my daily driver,,

I don't have any off a vehicle to measure. But, I'll grab one sometime if I think about it. Doesn't really concern me much anyway since I like mine with the couple inches of lift I've got, but it seems like even if a person wasn't ever interested in changing from stock ride height, this would still be a nice upgrade simply for the adjustable shock and more predictable coil spring.

but you could add a couple inches pretty easy , just crank up the retention seat

By the way, lengths for a Ranch 5229, the stock length for our trucks.

Compressed Length 13.75"
Extended Length 18.25"
Travel 4.5"

So actually, I think your original package would work for a stock application on up to a couple inches of lift given the way it mounts, as long as you make good use of bump stops and limiting straps.

Also, are these the shocks you meant to link? The ones in your earlier post are non-coilover.

A&A Mfg is another alternative. They have all sorts of tabs in various flavors (hole diameter, thickness, material, etc..) - have ordered plenty of stuff from them:
