'03 EB Explorer - Power Seat Stuck

The driver seat is stuck forward & it occasionally/rarely moves back
This problem started shortly after I had the lower seat recovered and the repair shop refuses to fix the problem they caused & the dealer repair claims this needs an $850 repair & it is $500 for a local repair shop. The SUV is not worth much more than that so some sort of repair needed/even completely changing seat to manual with a slide, if that is possible/take a seat slide from an XLS?

Any suggestions?

Find a local wrecker and look for a decent replacement seat. $45.

Mine did the same thing a few years ago. Completely dead. Found and repaired a broken wire beneath carpet under the seat. Never had a problem since.
