05 V6 Mustang to have Explorer engine

according to the Feb issue of Hot Rod, the next generation V6 Stang has our 4.0 SOHC..

bore and stroke are the same as ours at 3.95x3.32(100.4x84.4)mm

60 degree SOHC V6, but 202 hp@5250 rpm and 235 ft lbs@3500 rpm


9.7:1 compression

I had heard that and that they might use the new taurus engine. They made a good choice Now the V6 mustang isn't so slow anymore.......

I heard that a while ago but never found out if it was true or not. the best thing about ford using the 4.0 sohc is that any aftermarket parts made for that motor should work on our 4.0s as well.

That would be great. Just imagine all the goodies that will be made if the SOHC goes into the Stang.

i have also heard the V6 stang will be the explorer SOHC. if this is true, and they dont use some different type of accessories, you guys will have speed parts galore. although, i never really understood supercharging a V6 mustang... it will still help out the SOHC explorer guys bigtime.
