To fellow Explorer owners:
My 94 XLT has 123,000 and I'm wondering what to do now. I've been thinking about a new muffler and new shocks. You see, I want to keep my explorer, but I'm concerned about the 123K+ miles it already has. I don't like nor do I want to spend the money on similar, newer SUVs.
What are other Explorer onwers doing with similar mileage and age Explorers? I don't tow, bought it with 94,000 miles, had a tune up and routine check up(trasmission, fluids, etc.) at 100K, and never run it hard. It seems just fine, but before I go and spend money on items like shocks and mufflers, is there something lurking in my Explorer?
Like the other 94xlt owner, I'ver heard a lot about transmissions, hubs, etc. I live in the Bay Area, CA. and drive up to Tahoe one weekend a month. I want to do everything to keep my Explorer from becoming unrealiable.
All answers and helpful hints welcome. Also, any Bay Area Explorer owners really happy with their mechanics? Tell me.
