1994 XLT (And other Fords)

Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster! Picked up my '94 Explorer XLT for $600 a few months back, and the truck is awesome! It was cheap because I bought it off a guy who obviously had money, and just bought the truck to launch his boat, which he admitted to only using it twice. It has a pretty bad transmission fluid leak, but I'm planning on swapping it anyway, so its not that big of a deal. Ive already replaced a lot of the vacuum lines (Florida heat dissolves old vacuum lines...), front brakes, plugs and wires, and swapped the old tires. (Same size as stock, just until I lift it and get some 33's.) The truck also has 206,000 miles, so I'm not doing any major work just yet.

Anyway, here's some pictures:

Notice the plastic garbage sagging in this picture. The rockers are pretty rusty... My "repair" is in the next photo.

A temporary fix until I get around to actually repairing the rockers. I'm tossing around the idea of making new rockers out of diamond plate...

That's it of the Explorer, for now. Here's some of my other Fords:

1988 F250, 4x4, 7.3L Diesel, 33" Toyo A/T's. Sadly, I didn't have this truck for long, had to sell it when I moved back to Florida. Awesome truck though.

Another steal. $800. Had a blown head-gasket. I don't even want to replace a head gasket on a diesel ever again...

What a beast! Imagine dropping this in an Explorer, lol.

Then I replaced the leaf springs with ones from a '97 F350. What a difference that made!

Then I got my "economy car." 1999 Mercury Cougar, 2.5L V6, 5-speed transmission. Nothing too special about this car, bought it when I lived in Massachusetts. I was doing a 60 mile commute everyday, and the gas prices were killing me.

Also in this picture, is my 1997 Crown Vic Police Interceptor. I don't have any pictures of that car though... That car was sold shortly after buying the Cougar.

And lastly, my 1968 Mustang. Paid $500 for this one. Straight-6, automatic, a bit of rust here and there, most of the trim pieces and interior was given to me in boxes... lol.

Also, there's my house!

Nice looking rig. I'm a firefighter paramedics for last 20 years. Thanks for your hard work to create a nice safe ride, for those of us in this line of work.

No, thank you for putting your life on the line for others. Its guys like you that make me love my job. The facility that I work at builds both Medtec ambulances and Pierce fire apparatuses.

Im slowly amassing fun parts! On the right is the 302 destined for the Explorer. Keeping the stock shortblock, and adding some mild performance with GT40P heads and a B303 cam.

On the left, is a 351W for the Mustang. That's going to be a whole different animal. I wasn't really planning on picking up an engine for the Mustang until the Explorer was done, but I found this for a steal...
