I own a 2000 Ford Explorer and the oil pressure needle has fallen below the lower stop on the gauge and will not come up now. Can this be fixed easily? I had the problem with the needle vibrating rapidly before this happened - after the oil pressure sender was supposedly relpaced. Help!!!! I don't like to drive without an indication of low oil pressure.

Hmm. Did they install the right sending unit? These are nothing more than an idiot light. On or off...nothing in between. I can't recall if OBDII shuts down the engine with no oil pressure or not. If it were me, first thing I would do is throw a mechanical gauge on it and make sure I have oil pressure. Then I would check to make sure I have the proper sending unit. If all that checks out, it's got to be circuits or gauge.
