2001 ford ranger 4x4

My 2001 ranger won't shift into 4 wheel drive, I have checked the fuses and they are OK. The 4x4 light on dash does not light eather so my question is where is the 4x4 control module located? I looked behind the glove box and it is not the same as my 2002 explorer..Thanks,Al

I looked behind the drivers side kick panel but did not locate the module.
Could someone give me some help in locating it, maybe I'm blind..

...yours may be a transition year thing...2001 and newer rangers should be behind the drivers side kick panel...'95-2000 models they are behind the radio so you have to remove it first...

ITis behind the passenger side kick panel and I replaced it and it now works fine..Thanks everyone....
