2001 Ford Ranger Edge stalls after start

My 2001 ford ranger edge 4.0 v6 has 105000 miles on her. Recently when i have cold starts she will fire up very strong then begin to stall. The engine catches its self and the rpms level and she runs strong. No other problems to report after the initial start up. This does not happen when the engine is warm. I have replaced the oxygen sensor. Im not sure where to start on fixing this problem. Any help would greatly be appreciated

Rick thanks really good information. Im going to look into it. Where is the idle air valve located?
